Cairo Day Trip from Marsa Alam by Flight with Pyramids
The pyramids are a long way from the Red Sea beaches of Marsa Alam, but they can be done in a single day. You drive to Hurghada airport, fly to Cairo, and spend the day with an Egyptologist at the Pyramids of Giza, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the old bazaar of Khan El Khalili before flying back.
At Giza you stand at the foot of the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, then visit the Great Sphinx and its Valley Temple. After a local lunch, the Grand Egyptian Museum, close to the pyramids, shows the full Tutankhamun collection and a Grand Staircase lined with royal statues. The day ends in Islamic Cairo at Khan El Khalili, the historic market, where narrow lanes are filled with lamps, spices and craftwork.
This is a very long day that begins and ends with the road between Marsa Alam and Hurghada, so it is best for travelers who are determined to see Cairo and cannot spare extra nights. The flights are not in the tour price; we can book them for you at the current fare. A private vehicle and guide look after every other stage, and we help with the airport procedures.

Questions
How long is the day in total?
Very long: around 18 to 20 hours door to door, since the drive between Marsa Alam and Hurghada airport comes before and after the flights and the Cairo visit. Get some rest the night before.
Why do we fly from Hurghada?
The trip uses the Hurghada to Cairo flights, with a private transfer by road from your Marsa Alam hotel. The flights are not in the tour price; we can book them for you at the current fare and confirm the plan for your date.
What will we see in Cairo?
The pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and Valley Temple, the Grand Egyptian Museum near the pyramids and the Khan El Khalili bazaar. Your guide adjusts the time at each stop to the traffic and the day.
Do I need my passport?
Yes. Carry your passport or ID, because you pass airport checks in Hurghada and Cairo, and keep it with you all day. We send you the final flight details before your trip.
Is this suitable for children?
It suits older children who can manage a very long day. With young children, the early start and travel time can be tiring, so consider an overnight stay in Cairo instead and ask us for options.
